The Immortal George Orwell Predicted Everything the Left Is Doing Amid Riots

As we look on in dismay as symbol after symbol of Western heritage gets banished and traduced (Galway is now considering the removal of its Christopher Columbus statue. You know.....George Lloyd) we can refer once again to the immortal words of Orwell for some context.

“He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past."

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten...every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has altered. And that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.”

And strong-arm methods won't always be necessary.

"At any given moment there is an orthodoxy, a body of ideas which it is assumed all right-thinking people will accept without question. It is not exactly forbidden to state this or that or the other, but it is "not done"... Anyone who challenges the prevailing orthodoxy finds himself silenced with surprising effectiveness. A genuinely unfashionable opinion is almost never given a fair hearing, either in the popular press or in the highbrow periodicals."

As for the scheduled Two Minutes Of Hate clapping of front-line workers: "She knew when to cheer and when to boo, and that was all one needed."

The world goes into convulsions over the mass slaughter ('genocide' has been used to describe it - could be some copyright issues with that) of unarmed black men at the hands of police in America yet the total number of such cases last year was......nine. Nine. In a population of 330 million. Meanwhile in Chicongo no fewer than 23 black males were killed by other blacks males in the space of 24 hours last weekend.

Orwell again:

"The official ideology [of Ingsoc] abounds with contradictions even when there is no practical reason for them. Thus, the Party rejects and vilifies every principle for which the Socialist movement originally stood, and it chooses to do this in the name of Socialism. Even the names of the four Ministries by which we are governed exhibit a sort of impudence in their deliberate reversal of the facts. The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. These contradictions are not accidental, nor do they result from ordinary hypocrisy; they are deliberate exercises in doublethink. For it is only by reconciling contradictions that power can be retained indefinitely."

And: “The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it. We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.”

More than seventy years ago Orwell could see what was coming down the line. Yet our distracted and dumbed-down people can't see what's in front of their faces.

My only solution is to call for Divine Intervention.
